In this video, I review the Family Dollar "Business Journal" A5 hardcover, lined journal made in Vietnam.
I really like these journals. They are budget friendly and fountain pen friendly to a degree (do a pen test page at the back for certainty). I forgot to mention the journals do lay flat nicely!
At the end of the video, I talk about how I've been writing in the morning and the evening lately often predicting then coming back to say how things actually went. It has been eye opening to say the least.
I don't do morning pages exactly as talked about in The Artist's Way but I do find it very helpful to do a mini brain dump before my day starts. Often up early, I jot down what I'm expecting the day to be. Then in the evening it's natural for me to pick up my journal and write again.
These are not $25 journals so certainly they are not constructed quite as hearty as the more pricey journals but if you're like me and you write a lot ... it's nice to have a budget friendly option.
