Is this from a 'Monster's Inside Me' episode?
This is actually something called persistent hyaloid artery. This is a left over artery from development. Sometimes it will leave a dot on the crystalline lens called a mittendorf dot. Sometimes it leaves behind some tissue around the nerve called bergmeister's papillae. It can also leave behind remnants that can cause eye floater symptoms.
