There are two main eyelid bumps that form from the eyelid oil glands (meibomian glands): A stye, which is called a hordeolum, and a chalazion. A stye is more of an infected gland. A chalazion is a clogged oil gland with hardened oil and inflammatory proteins. Sometimes a chalazion can be tricky to get rid of, and can often times linger for months. This video breaks down the main methods to prevent and treat a chalazion at home. But also when it's a good time to go to the eye doctor to get additional treatment.
