Controlled Demolition, Inc. (CDI) of Phoenix, Maryland, USA (acting as Explosives Subcontractor to Main Demolition Contractor, Total Wrecking & Environmental, LLC of Buffalo, New York) performs the preparation for and successful explosives felling of the 250’ tall, concrete Covanta Incinerator Chimney with two (2) free-standing steel liners located in Oxford, New Jersey on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
The reinforced concrete windscreen and its two (2) free-standing steel flues were felled along the edge of the Covanta site to avoid operational groundwater monitoring wells and other facilities to remain for the time being.
