Raised bed gardening is a great method for reducing weeds and ground predators while increasing your square-foot efficiency in gardening for food security. After a super-successful garlic harvest, I rotated strawberries into my garlic bed, garlic into my fallow bed, and added 50% more raised bed area for next spring's garden. This is my second year using cardboard and mulch as my main weed deterrents and I finally fell that I'm pushing those quack grass rhizome matts towards the perimeter of the garden.
