Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

The latest version of the game can always be found here:

Time for a sidequest! We'll need to go to Mt. Bosch in Grunthall to tell Nomad about the existence of Avalon, our next sidequest dungeon.

Before that though, there's an interesting fellow in the house next to the inn in Bergstadt. One of the individuals in the house goes by the name Nikolai and he seems to have a bit of an amnesia problem when talking to him. He does remember visiting a large city with houses the color of bronze. Why he went there, then arrived at Bergstadt is unknown, but based on that hint, you'll want to visit Harlinton.

In Harlinton, make your way to the blacksmith's house and talk to his wife , then return to Nikolai to find this little diversion sparked his memory and he joins the army.

Combat wise, he's ok, but nothing special. Nikolai has a much more important calling though. If you take him to a blacksmith he hasn't visited previously, he'll increase the maximum level he can forge weapons up to.

Next, to see Nomad on Mt. Bosch. Telling him about Avalon will tell him the only way you're getting into the area is with him so he joins temporarily.

Before I leave the mountain, I head back west, then northwest to a dead end with a chest. Etched in the mountain in the back are the roman numerals CLVIII. You'll want to write this down somewhere.

Speaking of Avalon, head to Amen Corner, take the eastern exit out of town, and the dungeon is to your southeast.

This dungeon is rather dangerous with the random encounters. Unicorns are the least threatening simply because there's only one in any formation (A good thing since they have Mend-All), but Crusaders are fast, come in big groups of 3-5, and can hit hard.

As for the other two enemies...Templars hit harder than Crusaders, but thankfully only ever seem to come along solo. Enchanters can cast Thunderbolt for 100+ damage to those hit (200 to Rorschach!).

The opening of this area has four buildings you can check out from west to east. The first building from the west has a Waterfall, the second one has nothing, the third one has a Templar Helmet (7 pdf, 10 hp, 5 weight), and the fourth building leads deeper in to the area.

In the fourth building, head through either door on the west or east side. Head north at the point the two paths join and grab a pair of Gold Dusts from the chests on your east side.

Taking the western exit from the chests leads back outside. There's an entrance just to the east of a set of stairs up to the north. Through the door are two things of importance...a switch you need to step on and Templar Greaves (6 pdf, 5 hp, 4 weight).

Back outside, take the stairs north to a save point, then head north until you find another locked door. This one requires entering a three digit number. Enter in the code 158 (What CLVIII represents) and the door opens.

Past the door are two staircases and a hallway going north. Take the western staircase to get to the last switch to unlock a door up by the final save point here.

From the switch, head west into a library. If you examine the middle of the second bookshelf from the left on the top, you'll find an Ornate Key. Take that key to a locked door down the eastern staircase a couple rooms back for a Templar Plate (18 pdf, 15 hp, 12 weight) and an Opal Amulet.

Head back to the main hallway and head north to the unlocked door and a save point. To the north past the door is a throne. Nomad tries looking around for something, but apparently the Mad King's brother comes ghosting in and Daniel's group has to do another case of ghostbusting.

The ghostly fellow is Pendragon and he can be a deceptively dangerous individual. His regular strike is powerful, around 200 damage or so to someone like Jovian, while Bright Excalibur hits as hard on a single target while inflicting blind. Also has Photon Beam to hit anyone.

The real danger though and the whole reason Midian isn't here lies with his most dangerous move, Knights of the Round Table. This is a physical attack that hits everyone and does very high damage. Being light elemental too means that Myst got dropped down to critical hp WITH the full templar armor set & a Chain Belt equipped.

Survive KotRT though and you should be capable of bringing this ghostie down if two or three people are devoted to healing its damage up. Boss has a Blue Bandana (8 skl) to steal while dropping a Holy Grail.

After the battle, Nomad remarks that the Holy Grail is what he was searching for and can't wait to show it to someone that thought it was a joke otherwise. I'll mention what the Holy Grail does in combat next time.

Speaking of next time, we'll be back on track with the story.
