BioShock, developed by Irrational Games, is a title so often praised for its characters, such as Sander Cohen, it's storyline, including the harrowing story of Big Daddies and Little Sisters, and it's world building, among others, but I don't see those different aspects of BioShock's levels and its campaign as a whole being conflated as often as I think they should be.
A great world is only as good as the characters which inhabit it, a storyline only as good as the world it takes place in. And nowhere in BioShock, or perhaps in all of gaming, does this better than perhaps the title's most memorable level, Fort Frolic.
In this video, I analyse BioShock's Fort Frolic from beginning to end, taking a closer look at characters such as Jack, Andrew Ryan and Sander Cohen, as well as the level's story, world building, art direction and music.
