In Everyone is Good at Something, published by the India Inclusion Foundation, photographer Vicky Roy and VR Feroze offer a new gaze, one shaped by discovery, not definition. Entering the world of people with disabilities for the first time, they uncover narratives of strength, ability, and joy that challenge perception and celebrate individuality. Vicky Roy, who once worked as a rag picker at the New Delhi Railway Station, before finding a sense of expression through the camera lens, brings empathy to each frame. For VR Feroze, whose child is specially abled, the project is deeply personal. Together, they harness the power of photography—a medium that transcends language—to reveal the dignity and richness of lives often unseen.
Vicky Roy, who once worked as a rag picker at the New Delhi Railway Station, grew up with the support of Salaam Baalak Trust, and is now a celebrated photographer. He has exhibited his photography across the globe. His work includes documenting the World Trade Center and publishing two books. He received the MIT Media Fellowship in 2014, and was named in Forbes Asia’s 30 Under 30 in 2016.
