From the Black Hills to the Great Plains, South Dakota is a wonderfully diverse state with some of our most iconic National Park Sites. Aptly named the Mount Rushmore State, South Dakota is, of course, home to... Mount Rushmore. It's other main attraction is Badlands National Park, but don't sleep on the lesser known gems of this state either. You can tour an abandoned Cold War missile launch control facility and miss the crowds of Wind Cave National Park by visiting its sister park, Jewel Cave National Monument.
