Even bare threads are all about precision — but with needle tatting, there is an interesting way to make the construction even more useful. 🧵
A simple picot gauge helps keep the spaces between the rings consistent. The needle also makes it possible to work a single bare thread between the rings rather than a doubled thread.
The trick is to work on the needle from the eye end instead of the usual tip. This uses the same basic principle that makes split rings possible in needle tatting.
