Beginning of Chain

Most shuttle tatting patterns begin with a ring, but sometimes starting with a chain is a better—or even necessary—choice.

This simple technique uses a short piece of thread instead of a paper clip, giving you a clean and practical way to begin your work while following a wider variety of tatting patterns.
