We continue our Tour of Europe in our self build Mercedes Sprinter Camper Van. Living in the van full time as we drive down though southwest France on our way to southern Spain and Portugal.
We continue where we left you last at a lovely beach resort called St Georges de Didonne where we parked in a small Aire right next to the lighthouse.
There are 4 motorhome parks in the town and this is the first one we had to pay €10 per night but worth it for the location and scenic promenade walk. The town centre Aire has water and waste facilities.

After leaving St Georges we continue our drive further south in search of the winter sun to an area on the west coast called Le Bassin, a huge body of inland water fed from the sea where we stayed in a nature reserve at a small town called Le Teich.
This was another free parking spot in a beautiful location, surrounding parkland and right next to the marina. The nearby visitor centre had clean toilets and a cafe with free wifi.

From the nature reserve at Le Teich we stop for lunch by the sea at Arcachon there is a beautiful beach and we park the van right next to a carrosel ride on the sea front.
Then just a short drive down the coast to one fo the most amazing places I have seen the Grand Dune of Pyla, the largest sand dune in Europe, they were like mountains.
Steep climb to the top of the dunes gave way to a breathtaking view of the surrounding forest and sea, where paragliders soared effortlessly on the rising thermals.
