In this video, we are driving back from Northen Italy to France to meet up with John and Mandy @johnmandy
Our first stop was high up in the mountains at a free Aire with 4 parking spaces, water and electric. It's at an altitude of 700m and some very steep windy roads with fantastic views.

We drove down the mountain to a beautiful lakeside parking space near the town of Saint Chamas. This is normally a proper Aire but was under reconstruction, there are free parking spaces by the side of the marina here and free toilets near the local leisure centre.

From here we drove to a working farm stop, a gorgeous vineyard where we are going to meet John and Mandy @johnmandy
The surroundings and facilities at this vineyard are first class and the owners are so friendly too, we enjoyed a free wine tasting and spend a lovely day catching up and relaxing after long drives to meet each other.
This stop can be found on the "park for night" app using the tractor symbol.

We choose a location to spend our new years eve night in the port of Saint Cyprien and on the way there we stopped off at Carcasonne for lunch in the famous medieval walled city. Quaint little shops and tasty restaurants made for an enjoyable lunch stop.

We managed to find a small bar that was open in Saint Cyprien so we could all celebrate the new year, had so much fun dancing the night away and welcoming in the new decade. After a little lie in the next morning, we woke to gorgeous sunshine and a lovely view across the marina. There is a paid camper Aire here but we stayed for free in the marina car park, the pay machines were covered up I guess due to being offseason.

On leaving Saint Cyprien we drove along the Mediterranean coast road and across the border into Spain hoping to wild camp near a lighthouse we were halted by no camper van signs. Onto another clifftop carpark where we were immediately approached by the police and told to move on. It was getting late and dark so we spent our first night in Spain in a free car park in the town, then early the next morning we headed off to a beach car park near Benecarlo. We did some beach cleaning, bagged a load of plastic waste and collect some firewood to build our first campfire of this trip.
