• Description:
This video is part of a series where I use the Sonoff SC as the basis of a cloud-enabled, Environmental Monitor that will replace one of our flagship products, the Smart Citizen (acrobotic.com/products/smart-citizen).
In this video, I modify the Sonoff SC's hardware to upgrade one of the onboard sensors (the temperature/humidity DHT-11 sensor), and also access the programming ports of the data processing chips. I use a USB-to-Serial programmer to upload some test code to the ATmega328p chip, which is connected to all the different sensors.
For aesthetic purposes, I add a 24-pixel WS2812B (NeoPixel) ring that can be used as a visual cue to compliment the measured data—also because blinky(!).
