South Caloocan holds more than just busy streets, it hides a culinary pocket shaped by Filipino-Chinese heritage. Erwan Heussaff dives deep into the neighborhood’s overlooked Chinese food scene, which reflects its roots as a portside community where “Chinoys” built homes, memories, and restaurants that still serve the dishes of their ancestors.
We’re exploring four authentic spots–Tony’s Eatery, Orient Pearl, Long Kee Food Haus, and Swan Lake that have been feeding locals for generations.
