We finally have confirmation on the name of Epic Universe's upcoming nighttime spectacular! Audio testing at the park this morning revealed "Universal Celestial Goodnight" being played through the speakers, marking the first time we've heard this name anywhere outside of trademark filings.
This is huge because it moves us from "maybe this is happening" to "this is definitely in active production." A trademark filing just reserves a name, but hearing it during actual park testing means Universal is moving forward with this show.
We've been tracking this story for months now. Back in March, Universal completed a permanent fireworks launch site near Helios Grand Hotel with a control bunker and all the electrical infrastructure. Then came the job postings for fireworks technicians, the drained Cosmos Fountain with new lighting and DMX systems, and dozens of spotlights being installed throughout the park on buildings like Oak & Star Tavern and the hotel itself.
What we still don't know is when this show will debut or exactly what it'll include. Will it be just fireworks? Will they use the fountain? Drones? All three? If Universal goes all out with every element, this could be an incredible nighttime spectacular that gives Disney's shows some serious competition.
Epic Universe keeps getting more impressive, and Universal Celestial Goodnight could be the perfect way to end each day at the new park. I can't wait to see what they're planning.
