So this one is a little different from our usual content, but we had to talk about it because honestly... what did we just witness?
A Disneyland cast member recently decided that their shift was over in the most chaotic way imaginable. We're talking throwing their walkie talkie into the Rivers of America, tossing their work keys in after it, taking their shirt off, and just... jumping in the water. They swam around for a bit, climbed out, and then tried to just walk away like nothing happened.
We genuinely have no idea what led up to this moment. Nobody does. Was it a bad day? A bad week? Did something happen right before this that pushed them over the edge? There are zero answers right now, and that somehow makes this even more fascinating and strange.
And then there are the obvious questions. What happened to the walkie talkie and those keys sitting at the bottom of the river? How did guests react watching this unfold in real time? What did the other cast members do? And the big one... what happened to this person's job? Because you would have to assume this is an instant termination situation, but we genuinely do not know that for certain.
Look, working in a theme park is hard. Long hours, tough guests, working outside in the heat, a whole lot of pressure for wages that do not always reflect the job. We are not here to pile on this person. But we also cannot pretend this is not one of the most unhinged things we have ever seen happen at a Disney park and we have a lot of thoughts.
