Voice reveal???
I’ve been practicing singing with and without a teacher for about 3-4 years??? As you might be able to tell I’m mostly self-taught. If you can’t, let’s just say I was training to become an opera singer. I would go into the story of me picking up singing, but that is a long story and I got other things to right about in this description.
First, if you are curious, I did use tuning (something similar to auto-tune). What is the main reason for this? well I did sing mostly on pitch, but I used midi (digital) instruments for everything else. meaning, every instrument played their part flawlessly and if I didn’t sing 100% perfectly it would stand out like a sore thumb.
Last, I want to write about my inspirations for this song. There where 3 inspirations, big shock all from anime. Kevin Penkin who composed the OST to Made in Abyss, especially the song Hanezeve Caradhina (youtu.be/KPxSS1zHWwQ). Yoko Kanno who composed many great anime soundtracks, I was especially inspired by her song Von from Terror in Resonance (youtu.be/iGzjq9vYvTI). The most bazar inspiration was the ending from Barakamon (youtu.be/flXoFVIcz-A) called Innocence by NoisyCell.
You see I loved the melancholy rock sound from the barakamon ending and wanted to see if I could replicate that sound with an orchestra. So, I wrote a chord progression, then started playing a completely unrelated piano line (which is the one you hear at the beginning of the song). I then thought this sounds like something out of Made in Abyss and Terror in Resonance. So, I scrapped the chord progression and when with this melody instead, but still have a rock ending to say I was inspired by NoisyCell.
