This song idea was a concept I’ve been thinking about for a long time. I was thinking about this idea before I even realized I was a trans woman. The song concept is based around the questions and fears I had before coming out. Questions like “How will my loved ones react to me coming out?”, “Will they accept me?”, “Will they trust me?”, “Will they still love me?”. It’s a fear that sadly me and a lot of other trans and non-binary people have before coming out. If you are worrying about these same questions that I was worrying about before coming out, I just want you to know one thing. You are loved, you are valid, and there are people out there that will love and accept you for who you truly are! Please never give up hope! I believe in you!
I am so thankful to have such a loving and accepting audience! You all seriously mean the world to me! I want to apologize for writing such a sad and emotional song for Pride Month. I hope that this song helps out even just one person who is still in the closet realize that they are not alone. That would make me feel that writing this song would be worth it!
