The Digital Mermaid | Ep. 79 - Mast Down, Breakdown! @TheDigitalMermaid | Uploaded October 2023 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
This is a long one, folks! This is the second (of four!) breakdowns on the trip home. This one was really tricky to sort out, and we covered pretty much the _entire_ fuel system on the boat. I wanted to share the whole process in the off chance it might help someone else down the road.
In the end, it appears that some gunk clogged the pickup tube, some of it got through the filter and into the Yanmar's fuel pump, blocked it. This built up pressure, and the primer bulb popped. Got my first (and hopefully last, for a loooong time!) tow to a marina.
