Elegoo have just sent over their brand new Centauri Carbon 2 3D printer, and this one is interesting — because it’s not just a refresh. This is Elegoo’s answer to one of the biggest questions left hanging from the original Centauri Carbon… multicolour 3D printing. @ElegooOfficial

The Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 is an enclosed CoreXY 3D printer with a 256 × 256 × 256 mm build volume, high-speed motion system, a 350°C hardened steel hotend, and support for a wide range of materials including PLA, PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PC, Nylon, and carbon-fibre reinforced filaments — straight out of the box.

But the real headline feature here is CANVAS — Elegoo’s new RFID-based multicolour and multimaterial system, capable of running up to four filaments in a single print. This time, it’s not a roadmap feature or a future promise — it’s built into the printer from day one.

In this video, we’re going to unbox the Centauri Carbon 2, get it fully set up, and put it through its paces with real-world prints. I’ll be taking a proper look at print quality, materials, noise, cooling, waste, usability, and of course how the CANVAS multicolour system actually performs in practice.

I’ll also be talking honestly about how this compares to other multicolour systems on the market, what’s improved over the original Centauri Carbon, and whether this finally delivers on what many users were hoping for the first time around.

So if you’ve been curious about the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2, wondering whether multicolour printing is actually worth it, or you skipped the original and want to know if this is the one to pay attention to — let’s get straight on into it.
