Hello Operators
On 08 & 09 January 2024, we had two short grid failures in the Oulu region of Finland. Each lasted less than 30 minutes. However, at -29c/-19F the importance of shelter, heat, and communications becomes critical during a grid failure.
Inside our home, we deployed the emergency battery-powered lighting and warmed the fireplace. In the ham shack, no actions were needed or taken. Quite honestly, If I had been inside the ham shack when the blackout arrived, I wouldn't have noticed the lack of grid power.
