Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 gets a full frame rate and image quality test across eleven areas, using a custom analysis tool.
Tested on Nintendo Switch 2 at a native 1920x1080.
After the port's troubled history, the delay for performance clearly paid off. Elden Ring targets 30fps but actually runs with an unlocked frame rate, and across every area tested it mostly sits comfortably above that target, averaging around 34fps overall. Stormveil Castle is the strongest performer at a 40fps average, while the busier open world areas like Limgrave, the Godrick fight and Caria Manor dip into the high 20s at their lowest. Even the Margit fight holds a solid average in the mid 30s. Running above the 30fps target for most of the test is a genuinely good result for a game that once ran as low as 15fps in its early demo builds.
Whether you are weighing up Elden Ring on Switch 2 after following its rocky road to release, or a fan of frame rate analysis, this test covers a broad spread. Subscribe for more Nintendo Switch 2 frame rate tests.
