Very few changes went into making Act 2. Increased tempo, a few instrument changes, and changing all of the chords from Major to Minor. Again, very simple little piece, but I feel it's pretty effective.
After defeating the miniboss from Act 1, a short scene would show the zeppelin fleet into a thick set of storm clouds. The skies darken, and the background flashes with lightning. Sonic must traverse from airship to airship to reach the head of the fleet, the actual Egg Zeppelin. This is an enormous war blimp, fitted with cannons and other weaponry, painted in various deep shades of grey with the classic Eggman/Robotnik insignia on the side.
This stage would feature sections of intensified wind that runs the risk of blowing Sonic off of the platforms to his death. Each of the main zeppelins would be connected by some form of zipline that Sonic could ride on to get from ship to ship. Later in the stage, some of the ships would begin to self destruct due to Sonic's activities on them, and lightning striking some of the ships. This would set up some timed escape sequences where a timer would show up, resulting in Sonic having to evacuate to the next ship before the countdown reaches zero.
Again, I haven't planned out many of the details yet, but the boss would involve the aid of Tails and the Tornado flying Sonic around the Egg Zeppelin in order to attack and destroy its various cannons and weapons.
This zone would also be one of the final stages in the imaginary game, leading up to the final zone(s), Much like Sky Chase and Wing Fortress of Sonic 2 did.
More details to come later on.
