A very short, simple, and quick piece that I kinda threw together on a whim and ended up liking a lot. Very much inspired by Sonic 2's Sky Chase and Wing Fortress Zones, both musically and in terms of stage inspiration, with a generous pinch of Flying Battery Zone in the bridge section of the piece (and even more so in Act 2).
The name for this stage is very much a play on the concept of Robotnik/Eggman naming many of his creations with the word "Egg", as well as a nod to the band name Led Zeppelin (though their music did not inspire this piece, the name just sounds cool).
My tentative idea for how this level would work would be very much Like Sky Chase and Wing Fortress, the first section of the stage being Sonic riding on the Tornado in order to gain altitude to reach a fleet of zeppelins that Robotnik is planning to use for some kind of raid. Being on the Tornado, the first half of the act would play very much like Sky Chase zone, with Sonic leaping from the plane to destroy enemies and avoid air projectiles.
A short transition would show the Tornado ascending through a thick layer of clouds, and once emerging, the background being filled with an armada of blimps. The Tornado would approach one, and Sonic would then jump aboard it to progress the rest of the stage, which would consist primarily of carefully timed platforming between the airships, enemies, and other floating platforms. This would likely be in a scrolling-stage fashion, to help emphasize urgency and timing.
More details still in the works, of course, but a tentative idea for a miniboss fight would involve some form of dogfight between the Tornado and another flying craft. I'll flesh it all out later.
