My UMX Whipit finally turned up today, I pre-ordered back in Feb, with a couple of friends.
A quick video as the assembly is a bit tricky as the wing/fuz holes don't line up on either of the whipits I checked, so I suspect they may all be like this, its not a big problem just be careful and use a good quality #0 screwdriver as the screws are soft so would be easy to strip.
I had to add some bluetac in the nosecone to get CofG correct 36mm from leading edge.
DX8 setup I hsd to select wing type 1-aileron, 1-flaps to allow flap settings to be enabled, 30% expo on elevator is helpful as elevator is very twitchy, and I moved the rudder control link to inside hole on horn for better authority.
Timer I used stopwatch on throttle over 25% as its easier to use throttle stick to start/stop timer I found.
The whipit is setup so rudder is on AIL channel (so right stick for mode2), so I can steer for launch/catch I have added a Mix on my DX8 RUD to AIL 100% so I can use either stick for rudder as convenient.
I just did some dart launches outside the house it was breezy but flew nicely, I managed 21 seconds to the ground, and 12 seconds to a hand catch, so I was pleased with that.
