The General Directorate of Highways under the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure has built an ecological bridge in Manavgat, Antalya, to protect wildlife and prevent traffic accidents caused by animals.
The bridge, completed in the Hortu area of Sağırin District on the Taşağıl–Beşkonak road, is located along the route of Köprülü Canyon National Park.
Designed to ensure the continuity of forested areas, the structure will allow wild animals to safely pass between habitats, while reducing the risk of collisions for drivers and enhancing road safety.
The ecological bridge, designed in harmony with nature, is said to help preserve the integrity of the ecosystem in Beşkonak, one of the region’s environmentally sensitive areas.
The ecological bridge built in Antalya will contribute both to the conservation of biodiversity and to the development of tourism activities in a way that is compatible with nature. With the bridge, Köprülü Canyon—renowned for rafting and nature tourism—is expected to become even stronger in terms of sustainable tourism.
