Situated 35 kilometers from the Şalpazarı district of Trabzon, Sis Mountain attracts nature lovers not only with its stunning scenery but also with its rivers and waterfalls. Welcoming visitors from both provinces, the plateau also offers a pleasant atmosphere for those who want to cool off and have fun at Sandık Lake Waterfall. Frequently shrouded in mist, the waterfall captivates the attention of those who visit the region.
Ilker Altıntaş, who came to the plateau with his family, told Anadolu Agency that he was truly impressed by Sis Mountain Plateau. Altıntaş added that they also visited Sandık Lake Waterfall, saying, "The sun shining through the clouds, the nature—it’s all incredible. It’s definitely a place worth seeing. The plateau is fantastic. We have our own highland too, but the settlement area isn’t this vast. Anyone visiting Sis Mountain Plateau should absolutely see the waterfall."
Salim Tekin, visiting the region from Istanbul for vacation, said it was his first time on the plateau and he was amazed by the view and natural beauty.
Şahan Yiğit Çam, who came from Antalya, said they visited the plateau to escape the intense summer heat. “Being inside the cloud and mist is a beautiful experience,” he remarked. “People need to appreciate this kind of natural beauty. We have a nearby plateau on the border, but we came here for a change.”
