Crochet Sunglasses Case Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25MM
Yarn: Size 4, Medium Weight (Lion Brand Yarns, Re-Up Recycled Cotton and Polyester Blend, Colors: Rosewater and Surf Spray)
Attach Color A yarn to crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 1: CH 13, turn.
Row 2: Skip st 1 & 2, in BLO of 3rd st, place 1 DC. Place 1 DC in each remaining st in the row (11 total DC st + CH 2). Turn work toward starting tail so that you are working in the FLO from Row 1, place 1 DC in the FLO of each st in the row - this should create a large oval with 23 total DC st + CH 2.
Row 3: Creating a spiral pattern, place 1 FRONT POST st in the CH 2 from Row 2. Alternate between placing FRONT and BACK POST stitches around the row (24 total POST st).
Row 4 - 6: Continue to follow the spiral pattern, alternating FRONT and BACK POST stitches. Like stitches should stack on top of each other in the subsequent rows, creating vertical ridges. End your last row in the FRONT POST st behind the last BACK POST st of the row. Place 1 SL st around the BACK POST of the following st, then insert a st marker to hold the loop around the crochet hook and remove your crochet hook. You should be able to remove the st marker and reinsert your crochet hook into the loop to continue working with this color when needed.
Row 7: Attach Color B yarn to your crochet hook using a slip knot. Insert your crochet hook through TWO loops, one is the top of the last BACK POST st from Row 6, as well as the last SL st placed at the end of Row 6. Yarn over and drop all the loops on the crochet hook for a SL st, then CH 2. Place 1 DC in each of the remaining st in the row.
Rows 8 - 10: Repeat Rows 3 - 5.
Row 11: Continue to follow the spiral pattern, alternating FRONT and BACK POST stitches. Like stitches should stack on top of each other in the subsequent rows, creating vertical ridges. End your last row in the FRONT POST st behind the last BACK POST st of the row. Place 1 SL st around the BACK POST of the following st, then CH 50 and place another SL st around the last BACK POST st that you just worked in. Cut and tie off yarn current color only.
Row 12: Re-insert crochet hook in the loop left over from Color A yarn and CH 6. Working in the last BACK POST st, behind the CH st handle created in Row 11, place 1 SL st in the top of the last BACK POST st, then CH 2. Pull the CH handle stitches forward and place 1 DC in the remaining stitches in the row (23 total DC + CH 2).
Row 13: Place 1 BACK POST st around the CH 2. In the following st, place 1 FRONT POST ST, but work around the CH st handle as well. Place 1 BACK POST st in the next st, then work 1 FRONT POST st around the CH st handle. Alternate between placing FRONT and BACK POST stitches around the rest of the row (24 total POST st).
Rows 14 - 16: Repeat Row 13, making sure to follow like stitches, and when you come across the FRONT POST stitches around the CH st handle, follow the process of working around the CH st handle as well. End Row 16 on the last FRONT POST st, then insert crochet hook around the last BACK POST st and place 1 SL st.
Cut and tie off yarn.
Hide the tails down the inside of the sunglasses case.
