How to crochet an easy beanie? In this simple crochet tutorial, I show you how to crochet a beanie with alternating colors, but NO TAILS! This beanie is excellent if you are looking for a new and different beanie to crochet!

Crochet Beanie Pattern:
Crochet Hook: G/6/4.25
Yarn: 3 Lightweight, Diva Brand Recycled Cotton
Attach yarn to crochet hook using a Magic Circle (MC).
Row 1: CH 2 & place 12 DC inside MC. SL st in 1st DC to join (12 total DC st).
Row 2: CH 2 & place 2 DC in each st in the row - 1st st is placed in the current st where you have already placed the SL st. Skip SL st at the end of the row, & SL st in 1st DC st to join (24 total DC st).
Row 3: CH 2 & place ** 1 DC in st 1, 2 DC in st 2. ** 1st st is placed in the current st where you have already placed the SL st. Repeat * Around the row. Skip SL st at the end of the row, & SL st in 1st DC st to join (36 total DC st).
Row 4: CH 2 & place ** 1 DC in st 1 - 2, 2 DC in st 3. ** 1st st is placed in the current st where you have already placed the SL st. Repeat * Around the row. Skip SL st at the end of the row, & SL st in 1st DC st to join (48 total DC st).
Row 5: CH 2 & place ** 1 DC in st 1 - 3, 2 DC in st 4. ** 1st st is placed in the current st where you have already placed the SL st. Repeat * Around the row. Skip SL st at the end of the row, & SL st in 1st DC st to join (60 total DC st).
Row 6: CH 2 & place ** 1 DC in st 1 - 4, 2 DC in st 5. ** 1st st is placed in the current st where you have already placed the SL st. Repeat * Around the row. Skip SL st at the end of the row, & SL st in 1st DC st to join (72 total DC st).
Row 7: CH 2 & place ** 1 DC in st 1 - 5, 2 DC in st 6. ** 1st st is placed in the current st where you have already placed the SL st. Repeat * Around the row. Skip SL st at the end of the row, & SL st in 1st DC st to join (84 total DC st).
Place 1 safety pin or st marker in the loop around your crochet hook, then attach the next color to your crochet hook using a slip knot.
Row 8: Insert crochet hook in current st where you placed the SL st, and place 1 SC . Place 1 SC in the remaining stitches in the row. Skip SL st at the end of the row, & SL st in 1st SC to join (84 total SC st).
Row 9: CH 1 & place 1 SC in the BLO of each st in the row. 1st st is placed in the current st where you have already placed the SL st. Skip SL st at the end of the row, & SL st in 1st SC to join (84 total SC st).
Rows 10 -12 : Repeat Row 9.
Remove the safety pin from the previous color, and place it in the current loop that is on the crochet hook. Place the crochet hook in the previous loop that you just removed the safety pin from.
