Hello! My name is Andy. How are you?
Let's talk about the Eastern Pwo language.

Eastern Pwo, also known as Phlou, is a Karen language spoken by over a million people in Myanmar and around 50,000 in Thailand, where it is referred to as Southern Pwo. It is not mutually intelligible with other Pwo varieties, sharing only 63 to 65% of its vocabulary with them. However, the various dialects of Eastern Pwo are highly similar, with 91 to 97% lexical similarity.

The Eastern Pwo are a subgroup of the Karen ethnic group, primarily from Karen State in southeast Myanmar, though most live in Mon State and the Tanintharyi Region. Their population totals around 271,200 worldwide. They typically use "Saw" before male names and "Nan" before female names. The Eastern Pwo practice Theravada Buddhism and ethnoreligion, the latter being a key part of their cultural identity. Conversion to another religion is seen as cultural assimilation. Due to conflicts in Karen State, many Eastern Pwo have migrated to the Thai-Burmese border and lived as refugees for decades.
