What is an E color diamond? Is it good enough for an engagement ring? Is it white enough in its appearance? Should you buy an E diamond or a D diamond? Is it the best of the best?
Well, the best way to make an educated decision is to educate yourself about them. Basically, the E grade diamond resides in the GIA category of "Colorless" and they are the 2nd best rating you can get. FYI, the best color is D.
In this video, we take an indepth look at a half carat E color cushion cut halo ring under various types of lighting conditions. You can scrutinize the ring under LED lighting which emulates mall lightings, diffused lighting which emulates office lightings as well as different conditions under the sun.
At the end of the day, cut quality is really what determines the sparkle and brilliance of the center stone. It is a factor that outweighs the importance of color in my opinion.
