In this video, we review the light performance and sparkle of an ideal cut round diamond from the faint yellow color category. The diamond we are examining today is a GIA triple excellent cut and has superb optical precision.
The diamond has a K color and VS1 clarity which is priced at an attractive price point. Now, I know many people may shun lower color diamonds because they misunderstand that color makes the diamond more sparkly or more beautiful. Really, the sparkle and brilliance of a diamond is determined by cut quality.
In the full length video, you can see the ring being reviewed under different types of everyday lighting conditions. I can tell you that the diamond looks spectacular and is full of amazing sparkle. Also, while the diamond is a “low” K color, it is by no means yellowish looking in the face up view. That’s because diamonds are graded in the face down view.
Once they are mounted a setting like this, it’s hard for the eye to perceive color tints. That said, if you have an acute eye like I do, you may notice just a tinge of color in the diamond under fluorescent and office lighting.
When a diamond is well cut and has good proportions, its facets are able to react to light and reflect them back to the viewer’s eyes. Here are the stats and specifications for the diamond:

Because this diamond is so well cut, it is almost indistinguishable from a higher color diamond while costing a lot less. So, if you are on a budget and want to get a better bang for your buck, you may want to consider J or K diamonds.
