Haven't really played too much since last August, so glad to have recently taken Magicka Warden for a spin in this group. The Blackrose Prison Axes on the backbar to increase the twin blunt and blade bleeding effect. The main priority skills are: - Deadly Cloak, grants the Spectral Cloak buff for up-to 12 seconds providing the ticks are doing damage. - Blighted Blastbones, which should ideally be cast as close to 1-in-3 skills, as possible Deadly Cloak, Rending Slashes, Carve and Consuming Trap each last 10 seconds so these skills, therefore, form the backbone of the rotation. Carve also has a relatively strong Direct Damage portion, so this can be recast early if more upfront damage is needed in favour of refreshing another DOT. If you are using the other morph of Carve (Brawler), then you can slot Skull (or Wrecking Blow) and use this instead, for single target damage situations.Use Executioner as an execute, as early as 30% but definitely after 25% and reapply all DOTs, after that only keep your main skills active. In short fights where you won't get a full duration of DOT recasts, ensure DOTs are running one last time before 25%, then use Executioner the rest of the way. The premise here is that if you cast enough Blastbones, then in-between you should have enough time to cast all of your DOTs. Cast Blastbones 1-in-3 skills whenever possible. Keep up Mystic Orb, Skeletal Archer, Scalding Rune, Degeneration and Shock Siphon inbetween. Also do keep up Unstable Wall, but due to it's reasonably high direct damage portion, feel free to recast this early if there is nothing else that needs casting. Recasting Scalding Rune early works too! Replace one of these DOTs (or Inner Light) for a spammable such as Skull or Force Pulse if you feel like you need one, which in certain fights would be beneficial. My first choice would probably be Degeneration. The general focus is to keep up your DOTs to a reasonable level without reapplying too early and try to make the most out of the burst phases.The general priority is to fire a bow proc as soon as possible (or every 6th skill for those with worse ping, not a massive difference), as well as refreshing Merciless Resolve whenever required. Twisting Path, Barbed Trap, Crippling Grasp and Shades can be then reapplied when possible, before reverting to Elemental Weapon, which is our spammable of choice.The priority shifts, however, when Soul Harvest/Incapacitating Strike is used. If there are DOTs with 1 or maybe 2 seconds left, it can be better to refresh these DOTs first. The main priority skills are: - Deadly Cloak, grants the Spectral Cloak buff for up-to 12 seconds providing the ticks are doing damage. - Subterranean Assault on cooldown, now activates twice (one after 3 seconds and then after 6). The only real exception during an Off-balance phase with less than 3 seconds remaining, or in a real fight where you won't get any hits at all.- Cutting Dive spam whenever the enemy is off-balanced.Deadly Cloak, Rending Slashes, Growing Swarm and Consuming Trap each last 10 seconds so these skills, therefore, form the backbone of the rotation. However, it's not a problem for the DOTs to fall off in favour of casting the above skills (Subterranean Assault, Cutting Dive). Generally, there may be a pattern of reapplying DOTs when not off-balanced, not at all during off-balanced phases.Use Executioner as an execute, as early as 30% but definitely after 25% and reapply all DOTs, after that only keep your main skills active. In short fights where you won't get a full duration of DOT recasts, ensure DOTs are running one last time before 25%, then use Executioner the rest of the way. During off-balanced phases in short fights, use Executioner too, in the event that you won't get full value out of the Cutting Dive bleeds.Proposed Static Rotation This is a 12-second rotation which depends on having a good (not perfect) off-balanced uptime, which is more reflective of reality. Therefore two sets of the rotation are roughly equal to realistic off-balanced phases for many groups. Magicka Dragonknight provides some pretty good burst in shorter fights and possesses an important buff in Engulfing Flames, for Magicka-based groups. Barbed Trap and Eruption are also the same duration, so consider casting these as a pair as well. Otherwise fit around your other DOTs, such as Unstable Wall and Flames of Oblivion whenever required. Try not to recast Flames of Oblivion early though, whereas the other skills you can. Otherwise, cast Flame Lash / Molten Whip when possible. If using Flame Lash, it is possible to cast the proc condition of this skill twice per off-balance phase, so I would recommend keeping half an eye out for off-balance if possible.Acuity-specific:The Acuity Cooldown is 18 seconds, which lines up with with the duration of Barbed Trap and Eruption. When Acuity is ready, ensure that you are not on your front bar before freshly casting the two aforementioned skills. Use Scalding Rune as one of your last two skills to cast from the backbar, so that it explodes once you are on your front bar when Acuity procs. If you are also able to time the Wall from exploding during the Acuity proc, that is a nice bonus as well. During the proc, try to use your spammable during the duration, and avoid recasting DOTs without a reasonable direct damage portion, such as Degeneration (or Orb) if you can. The baseline of this rotation lasts 10 seconds, since Deadly Cloak, Rending Slashes and Consuming Trap each last 10 seconds. These skills, therefore, form the backbone of the rotation.If you need to reapply skills which are longer than the 10 seconds, such as Barbed Trap, Noxious Breath, Flames of Oblivion or Venomous Claw, you can do so dynamically after they expire, or in many cases where you have clashes, slightly early or slightly late. You won't be able to avoid this. Do try to ensure Stone Giant doesn't drop off though.Use Executioner as an execute, as early as 30% but definitely after 25% and reapply all DOTs, after that only keep your main skills active: Deadly Cloak, Barbed Trap, Venomous Claw and Stone Giant (if the buff is required). The Blackrose Prison Axes on the backbar to increase the twin blunt and blade bleeding effect. The main priority skills are Deadly Cloak and if slotted, Π‘rystal Weapon. Deadly Cloak grants the Spectral Cloak buff for up-to 12 seconds providing the ticks are doing damage. Π‘rystal Weapon reduces the enemy's armor and gives you and your allies 1000 penetration, so it is beneficial to use this skill at least every 5 seconds.Note: Crystal Weapon isn't as strong as Wrecking Blow for pure DPS in perfect situations. Wrecking Blow can provide more DPS in situations where frequent blocking isn't required. Barswapping away from Wrecking Blow can be slightly awkward too. This rotation lasts 10 seconds, since Deadly Cloak, Rending Slashes and Consuming Trap each last 10 seconds. These skills, therefore, form the backbone of the rotation.If you need to reapply Barbed Trap or Hurricane, you can do so dynamically after they expire, or after every second rotation. The rest of the time you can use spam ability and cast Bound Armaments when you have 4 stacks active.Use Executioner as an execute, as early as 30% but definitely after 25% and reapply all DOTs, after that only keep your main skills active: Deadly Cloak, Barbed Trap, Hurricane and Π‘rystal Weapon (if the buff is required). Whenever the target is off-balanced, it is worth spamming birds over anything else - each cast of Cutting Dive is worth more than a cast of any DOT, as well as Sub Assault.Outside Off-balance periods, keep up DOTs and do so whilst casting Sub Assault 1-in-4 skills if you can. Poison Injection is the biggest priority to keep up if you are using the Master Bow. Either way, keep this skill up, along with Endless Hail, Consuming Trap, Growing Swarm and Barbed TrapWhen you anticipate a period of Off-balance coming, best ensure DOTs are up. Perhaps it's worth refreshing Endless Hail and Poison Injection if they're close to running out. As soon as Off-balance is up, just spam Cutting Dive. Sustain can be pretty bad here since we're using a number of expensive skills and no blood for blood.My ideal setup here would be a Siroria backbar inferno, instead of the vMA Inferno, with 4 further pieces on the body. This would give 6 pieces on the backbar, but 4 on the front. 5x Acuity and 1x Thrassian Stranglers, and the Masters Lightning Staff would make up the rest. So do your best to ignore my completely random improvized rotation there at 9:00. See the 2nd boss at 3:21 for how to do a clean pre-buff rotation on a Magicka Warden - all setups are listed below. As usual, for recent times, I don't want to say too much about the PTS changes YET, because they can be unpredictable and they bit me a little last time round.
