Day 1
Uncle Zanji is dead.
Strange things have happened since the wizard Agahnim came to Hyrule. He seemed like a kind man at first as he got rid of the many plagues that befell Hyrule, but there was something about his eyes that disturbed me. Then the king stopped making appearances. He was suddenly offering rewards to those who found the descendants of the Seven Sages.
The soldiers could only speak with Agahnim, who would then relay information to the king. I overheard Zanji and Captain Arjuna discuss it in town. Something was definitely wrong.
My suspicions came true last night when a voice called to me in a dream. The voice belonged to Princess Zelda. She was trapped in the castle dungeons and called for help. I responded to her and she seemed to hear me, but then I woke up.
Zanji wasn't there. It was dark and stormy. All that was left was a note. It said that Zanji went out and that he'd return by morning. I wondered what he would be doing out so late during a storm. I grabbed a lantern and a cloak and set out.
Zelda's voice came to me again, surprisingly clear through the storm. There was a secret passage into the castle. A vision flashed in front of my eyes showing me where it is. It was just outside the castle walls. Once inside, I heard fighting...then cruel laughter and what sounded like thunder. I turned the corner. Whoever had cast that powerful spell vanished...leaving Zanji behind.
He told me to take his sword and shield, and to go save Princess Zelda. Then...he died in my arms. Agahnim....had to have been the one who killed him! He would not survive me.
I fought my way through dark soldiers and made it to the castle dungeons. There was Princess Zelda. She knew who I was through my voice. She helped me find another secret passage leading to the sanctuary. The priest there should help.
As we walked there, Zelda told me what happened shortly after Agahnim rid the land of its plagues. Agahnim killed the good king. He threw Zelda in the dungeon and began the search for six girls who were descendants of the Seven Sages. Zelda said that Agahnim made all six girls disappear...she was next since she is also a descendant of one of the Seven Sages.
Without any remnant of the sages power...the seal on the Dark World would break. The evil within would break free! Zelda believes that is Agahnim's overall goal. I asked her if she was sure she'd be safe at the sanctuary. She's positive she will be since Agahnim doesn't know all of the castle's secrets.
We made it to the sanctuary and the priest was more than happy to watch over Zelda. No evil can step inside such a holy place.
I asked Zelda if there was anything I could do to stop Agahnim. I will see him dead at my feet! Zelda said that the only thing that can counter his evil magic is the Master Sword. I was upset hearing that as no one had been able to find the Master Sword in centuries!
The priest said that Kakariko Village's elder, Sahasrahla, may know where it is for he is a descendant of one of the sages (his granddaughter must've been one of the unfortunate girls who disappeared).
This morning, I set out for Kakariko. I had to be careful as the dark soldiers were looking for me. There were signs all over town that said I was the one who kidnapped the princess. Agahnim was fast. He must've seen my face as Zelda and I escaped.
I snuck over to Sahasrahla's house. He wasn't there, but his wife was along with some others. They knew me and my uncle. They don't believe Agahnim's words. I asked Sahasrahla's wife where her husband was. She admitted that she doesn't know. However, her grandson who lives nearby would know. He was the only one trusted with that information. Sahasrahla left when Agahnim was beginning his search for descendants of the Seven Sages. I hope he isn't too far away.
