Marc R. Moon, MD, is a Washington University cardiac surgeon at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Dr. Moon grew up in Detroit where his mom encouraged him to become a doctor at a young age. Currently, he enjoys his work in cardiac surgery because it’s exciting and every day is a new adventure, from meeting a new patient in the clinic to learning an advanced technique that makes a procedure less invasive. Beginning the moment he meets his patients, Dr. Moon focuses on working with them to make sure they feel as comfortable as possible. If his patients do not feel comfortable with their treatment plan, Dr. Moon reassesses and works with them to come up with a new plan.
