Dr. Elisabeth Ormandy holds an undergraduate honours degree in Neuroscience, and a Masters degree in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare, both from the University of Edinburgh. Elisabeth now lives a low-impact life in Vancouver, she’s a instructor at UBC, an Advisor for both the Canadian Centre for Alternatives to Animal Methods (CCAAM) and the Humane Education Coalition, and a member of the editorial board for the Alternatives to Laboratory Animals (ATLA) journal. Today, Elisabeth has agreed to speak with us as the Executive Director of Animals In Science Policy Institute (AISPI) which is the first and only registered charity in Canada working solely to promote better science without animals.

The forest in the backdrop on this video was taken by me a couple of years ago in the unprotected Walbran Valley on Vancouver Island. There is ongoing clearcut logging on the Island, and currently near this valley.
