Earlier today a wrestling news site claimed that he was taken off the TNA roster and was no longer apart of TNA, which would mean in a lot of people's minds that he is also no longer a part of OVW.
This is not true.
Williams is still one of the main trainers in OVW, he has had many injuries in his career mainly on his neck, two were caused by Hernandez, both unintentional, and other injuries made before he ever stepped foot in TNA.
For over almost two years now we have seen him as nothing more than a jobber, and this upset a lot of fans, but this was done because he requests it. He has trained a lot of the wrestlers in OVW and some that are currently in TNA. He teaches a lot, like submission, and apparently is one of the main guys behind Crimson.
From what I have heard Williams in TNA's version of Finlay. For those who don't know, Finlay has been one of the most important trainers in WWE. He has helped a lot of the DIVA's as well as rookies in WWE.
There was a little fun story I found on the internet about something of World Elite getting back together, and automatically that captivated my attention, because as you all know, World Elite has been a concept I have liked for many years, and was an idea I had when I was very young, the best wrestlers from each country put together as one faction.
This World Elite 2013 story stated that it wouldn't be what we knew before exactly, but just containing wrestlers from both Canada & England, their roster looking like this:
Petey Williams
Robert Roode
Eric Young
Douglas Williams
Brutus Magnus
Which is basically just Team Canada and the British Invasion put together.
It didn't go much into it, but I assume this would be a heel group in TNA, I assume it would have been like when World Elite and the Main Event Mafia was in TNA at the same time, and they joined forces, but that was about it.
To summarize, no, Douglas Williams isn't gone exactly, he's still a trainer in OVW.
