A short proof-of-concept demo for PC Doom II level 30, Icon of Sin, showing that it's possible to run straight onto the tall central pillar without dropping into the corrosive slime that surrounds it.
The demo file was recorded 20+ years ago with the original v1.9 version of PC Doom II under DOS, and played keyboard-only. For video capture this demo file was replayed with Crispy Doom v5.8.0.
The technique used to make the jump is a type of Strafe-Running called SR50. Details can be found in this DoomWiki article: doomwiki.org/wiki/Straferunning
