There is an earlier backpack in this Episode (on E2M2/MAP09), but it only exists when playing at Skill 1 or 2. The backpack shown here in E2M5/MAP12 is present at all Skill levels.

Note that this backpack sits in a Secret-flagged space, but it is possible to pick it up and continue on without getting credit for discovering that Secret. To get credit, be sure to step across the spot where the backpack was.

This is a 'no monsters' demo played keyboard-only at Ultra-Violence Skill.
