Donut Lab sent us their solid-state battery test data — 60 charge cycles, independent lab verification, and a result that tells a surprisingly coherent chemical story. In this video we pull apart exactly what happens inside a solid-state cell as it degrades: contact loss at the electrode interface, the expansion mismatch between anode materials, the atmospheric chemistry that gives away which metal is inside, and why two electrolytes failed where one held.
