Everyone is unboxing the new Commodore C64, but is it just a fancy emulator box, or can it actually replace your vintage hardware? Today, I’m skipping the unboxing and putting this machine through a real stress test.
I’m connecting original 1980s peripherals—including a real 1541 disk drive and the "Action Replay" cartridge—to see if the FPGA technology can really handle the edge cases. Plus, we do the "Skate or Die" audio torture test to see if the SID emulation can handle the famous 6581 volume bug.
