In 2009, Jason Brozen was severely injured when an arc flash occurred while he was performing work on an energized breaker at a hotel in Kansas. Without any personal protective equipment (PPE), the incident left Brozen, who at the time had more than 14 years of experience as a master electrician under his belt, with third-degree burns on his face and arms. He spent a week in a coma and two weeks in an intensive care unit.
