Here's a video to showcase an excellent patch that can be applied to the Japanese version of Donkey Kong Land III / 3 (known as Donkey Kong GB: Dinky Kong & Dixie Kong) to get a fully English Game Boy Color version, in full color. The original English version was never released in full color, so only Japanese players enjoyed a fully colorized game until this patch's release a few years ago. This patch was made by Blaziken257, who is also available on YouTube and several other places.
The Game Boy titles are perhaps quite underappreciated; but this patch should absolutely help bring this particular game up in its general playability to the average player. It essentially replaces the original version, as it's purely superior in every way.
The Japanese version also lacked certain other things that were in the original English version, such as extra lines of dialogue and animations on the world map. This patch restores those to create the best version of Donkey Kong Land III there is. If you love the Donkey Kong Country games, I would definitely recommend it--and I hope that more try it out because of this patch.
You can find the patch at romhacking.net/translations/1757 but do remember that this requires the Japanese version be patched, NOT the original English version.
Note that the video is edited together for a more natural flow; the game does not remember your extra lives across power-offs.
