So Dometic stopped overtly supporting the Weatherpro Powered RV Patio Awning years ago. Obvisously there are thousands of these awnings still on RVs and yet Dometic pushes owners and shops to change out the entire awning rather than supporting their zombie products.
The owner of this Fleetwood Discovery had this issue as the awning retracting slowly and stopped often and was quoted for a whole new awning, and asked if I could help.
Here is the work around hack that can be done to use the new Dometic 9100 awning motors to extend the life of a weatherpro awning and also not be forced to used poor performing aftermarket parts with high levels of failure. Really the motor is the same, it just has a different bracket to mount to the new style arms.
