Life is classified into 3 domains based on similarities in genetics. In this video, I described Bacteria, Archaea and Eukaryota and their evolutionary relationships in the context of phylogenetic trees. I include a discussion of Woese's first tree showing that Bacteria and Archaea were distinct types of "prokaryotes".
