Parton acknowledged that putting the song on a CD was risky due to changes in music consumption. She admitted that burying the song was emotionally difficult, comparing it to 'burying one of my kids.' Parton passed away on August 25, 2026, following a brief battle with cancer. Her nephew, Brian Seaver, announced her death, sharing a deeply personal tribute. Parton's legacy will endure through her iconic songs and her philanthropic endeavors, like the Imagination Library.
