Does God speak to us? Are the stories of people hearing God’s voice or having conversations with God meant to be taken literally, or are they just allegorical?

Rupert says: ‘God makes its presence known in the finite mind in the form of the experience of peace, joy, love, enthusiasm and intuition. It’s also possible for God, or pure intelligence to appear in the mind, not just as a feeling, but as words. You have an intuition, or you hear a voice that brings something new into your mind that your mind could never have thought of by itself if it only referred to its own internal content.

‘That is, in religious language, God speaking to you, or infinite intelligence infiltrating the finite mind on its own terms in order to give it some essential information that it needs at that time – infinite intelligence, assuming the form of your finite mind.’
