Rupert Spira | The Art of Asking a Question @rupertspira | Uploaded January 2024 | Updated October 2024, 21 minutes ago.
Is there an art to asking a question? And is it true that we already have an intuition of the answer when we ask a question?

Rupert says your question actually comes from the intuition of the answer. The purpose of the question is to bring that intuition into focus and the purpose of the answer is to make the knowledge that you already have available to you.

It's not the answer that satisfies you — it's the understanding. The real answer is your own understanding and nobody can give you understanding. Somebody can evoke the understanding in you, but the understanding takes place in yourself.

So take time to distil the question and then live with it, spend time with it, really ponder it. That's your way of inviting the answer to come directly from inside you, rather than mediated through another person.
