Does a smaller cam make MORE torque? If the question is does it make more peak torque than a bigger cam, the answer is usually no. If the question is does it make more torque down low, the answer is usually yes. Take a look at the provided graph and see the difference between a 206 cam and 218 cam on an @afr_heads 355 SBC. The bigger cam made 2 lbs-ft more peak torque but a lot less down low (where the small cam would definitely feel more torquey). The cam doesn’t have to make more peak torque to make MORE torque!
